Beta-Ecdysterone, also known as 20-hydroxyecdysone, is a type of phytosteroid that occurs naturally in certain plants like spinach and quinoa, as well as arthropods. Ecdysterone belongs to a group of compounds known as ecdysteroids, which play a vital role in growth, reproduction, and defense against predators.
Ecdysteroids have a similar chemical structure to testosterone and are considered the most comparable "testosterone-like" compound found in arthropods.
