Apigenin is a naturally occurring flavonoid commonly found in a variety of plants, fruits and herbs. In common with the other ingredients in Rest Up it has both anti-inflammatory and neuro protective properties. It has been shown in human clinical studies to improve symptoms of depression and anxiety – the most notable studies used chamomile extract, which is naturally rich in apigenin.
Apigenin’s bioavailability is poor, but its safety profile is extremely good. Animal studies researching its beneficial effects on both sleep and aging have used considerably higher dosages than comparable human trials, to great effect.
Anecdotally, replicating these dosages in real life with willing human Guinea Pigs as opposed to mice has shown positive results on sleep.
